Abstract

1.Develop a publicly-available dataset of sectoral useful energy/exergy intensities

• And final, where not already existing

2.Take a bottom-up approach; use published sectoral energy and output data   3.Maximise country, sector and time coverage   4.Identify and analyse headline trends

• How do global sector-level trends change when viewed from the useful stage?
• Are similar convergence patterns observed compared to previous analysis?
• How do sectoral differences explain aggregate convergence/divergence?
