Abstract
In The Creative Word: Canon as a Model for Biblical Education (2nd edn), Old Testament scholar and theologian Walter Brueggemann explores the intersection of the Old Testament canon and education. At first this seemed like an odd combination, but as the book unfolded, it was clear that Brueggemann had something important to say about education from the perspective of the Old Testament. The book explores how the three elements of the Old Testament canon—the Torah, prophets, and the writings—can help shape an educational program for the next generation.
