Abstract

Many Christians unreflectively assume that disability is always a result of sin. On this view, there was no disability apart from the Fall and will be no disability in the New Creation. Such an understanding tends to contribute to the devaluing and mistreatment of disabled people. There are reasons, however, to think that this view is false. We can instead think of disability as part of God’s intended Creation.
