From 1857 to 1865, the highest governing body in the denomination was the classical assembly. Once a second classis was formed in 1865, the general assembly was established to address questions beyond the scope of the individual classes. In 1880, the general assembly was renamed the synod. Below is a listing of the meetings of these governing bodies, including their locations and officers. While the classis met several times per year, the general assembly or synod convened annually or bi-annually.
