Abstract
The Forum on Music and Christian Scholarship kicks off with a short Evensong service (7:00 pm) and a lecture-recital of music by Hildegard of Bingen (7:30 pm). Quiet your mind and spirit mid-week with the traditional evening prayer liturgy and stunning medieval music. The evensong service is co-sponsored by the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship and will feature the "Evening Prayer" service as found in the ir newly-published psalter, Psalms for All Seasons. Faculty and students of the music department will lead the liturgy and music. The Hildegard recital will feature a short talk about the famous medieval composer and mystic, and music from her Office for St. Ursula (12th C). The singers are Linn Maxwell, Dianne Penning, Barbara Mccargar, and Lisa Walhout, with instrumentalists Calvin Stapert and Tim Steele
