Abstract
Building a movement for global health equity means tackling not just disease, but all the barriers to health. Skeptics warn this approach is too complicated, too expensive and unsustainable-but time and time again experience has shown that a comprehensive approach is the only way to fundamentally improve the health of patients and improve the quality of life in communities. Drawing from the experience of Partners In Health in Haiti and Rwanda, Ed Cardoza will present some elements which might prove essential ingredients in a long-term strategy for reversing generations of privation.
