Abstract
It is not hard to see the impact of world Christianity in America today. Here in Grand Rapids, we have dozens of new immigrant churches. The Catholic bishop's office downtown answers the phone first in Spanish. And at Calvin, our student body has diversified rapidly in the past decade, while some of our most admired professors come from places like the Philippines, South Korea, Honduras and Egypt. In a stunning new book with Oxford University Press, historian Jay Case argues that world Christianity made an impact in America much longer ago than we might think.
