The Way to Jesus: Why Do You Seek the Living Among the Dead?

Abstract

The quest of the historical Jesus virtually by definition leaves aside that conviction which is most basic for Christians; namely, that Jesus is among the living and not among the dead. The lecture suggests that an appropriate model for understanding and pursuing the quest is that of religious pilgrimage, in which the pilgrim’s convictions, shared with an historic community of faith, provide not only the motivation but also the appropriate context for pursuing this pilgrimage - which is not merely a pilgrimage to the past. http://www.calvinseminary.edu/continuingEd/stob/
