Maps have been used to visualize the unknown and the otherwise distant for millenniums. Today with the power of digital platforms, mapping aids society in various ways. Some examples are, real time travel directions to reach destinations, being pinnacles in vast online retail logistic ecosystems and consulted within the realms of urban planning and disaster relief. Good decisions are made when they are formed collaboratively with an in-depth understanding of the problem being solved. Maps are important because they give a problem a geography, a physical place where people exist.
