Description
In the United States, there are high rates of unplanned pregnancies. Many women are not educated on how to plan for, prevent or detect pregnancies and these unexpected life changes have negative outcomes such as sexually transmitted diseases, inadequate prenatal care, postpartum depression, premature birth with birth complications and high cost of delivery, and maternal mental health problems later in life. The purpose of this research is to examine the benefits of educating women about their reproductive health and about contraceptive use and effectiveness. This education is important for women’s health and the wellness of newborns and children.
