Abstract

The distinct feature of the Garden of Eden as God’s dwelling place, compared to his later dwelling places, such as the tabernacle and the temple, is that it was the place of residence that God built and constructed himself, whereas the tabernacle and temple were places built by humans. Therefore, part of Eden’s design was to magnify that the most proper place for God’s dwelling, and where humanity is meant to inhabit, is with God in the place that God has built.
