Description
The blacklegged tick (Ixodes scapularis) and the lone star tick (Amblyomma americanum) are two emerging or reemerging species of ticks (Family: Ixodidae) of significant public health concern in Michigan.
Objectives:
- Surveillance for ticks and tickborne pathogens in west Michigan.
- Evaluate the spatial ecology of ticks in an area of recent expansion.
